National Turkish food

Hello guys, I keep writing my blog about how foreigners live in Turkey. Today I want to talk about the national Turkish food and its features.

Turkish food is favorably distinguished by the variety and simplicity of the recipes, as well as the high quality of the ingredients used, which guarantees excellent taste sensations. The centuries-old domination of the Turkish lands of the Ottoman Empire has left modern Turkey, a great tradition, which traces the culinary features of Central Asia, the Middle East and the Balkans.

Features of regional Turkish food
It is interesting that Turkish food varies a little throughout the country, depending on the region.
For example, the cooking technology of cooking in Istanbul, Izmir, Bursa and the rest of the Aegean Sea region inherited many elements of the Ottoman kitchen with fewer spices, preferring rice and using seafood extensively.

Turkish breakfast "kahvalti" ("before coffee")
Breakfast in Turkey is quite plentiful and varied. Classic morning menu consists of different types of cheese, cheese, butter, olives, pieces of tomatoes and cucumbers, jam, honey and sour cream "kaymak."
Also served are: hot Turkish sausage, bacon, buns, bagels or biscuits. The traditional dish for breakfast is "menemen", which includes eggs, onions, green peppers and olive oil. They drink classic Turkish tea for breakfast.
Turkish Lunch
The main dish of lunch in Turkey is meat (beef or lamb)
Most often, the Turks are preparing a large sandwich "Döner Kebab", consisting of finely chopped pieces of meat, pre-fried on a spit wrapped in a cake.
And sometimes the meat acts as a side dish for vegetables and rice. Just prepare a Turkish pizza "Lahmacun." Turkish men prepare pizza from thinly rolled dough, baked on a stove with a mixture of minced meat, tomato and onion. Turkish pizza slightly differs from our presentation.
Turks together with the food drink "ayran" - a drink obtained by mixing yoghurt, water and a pinch of salt.

Classic Turkish Dinner

Dinner in Turkey begins with snacks, continues with the consumption of the main course and ends with the savor of aromatic Turkish coffee with spices.

As a snack, Dolma is most often - stuffed with pilaf vine leaves, Sarma - the same as dolma, only in cabbage leaf.
The main dish is, of course, meat: ribs, kidneys, chops, kebabs, shish kebab. For example, "beğendi tas kebabı" chicken or lamb chunks of roasted meat with a garnish of eggplant puree.
"Şiş köfte kebabı" - meat balls from lamb, served on skewers, and "testi kebabı" - small pieces of beef stewed in sauce in a pot.
Turkish coffee completes the evening meal and is served in small cups.It is a small-grained grain, thoroughly roasted and boiled with boiling water.

Sweets and pastries

Spicy pastries and sweets of Turkish kitchen are famous throughout the world.

Many Turkish desserts are based on puff pastry and nuts. For example baklava.
In the countries I visited, I can definitely say that Turkey's food is one of the best that I had the opportunity to try. From homemade stew to kebabs on the street. Turkish food is cheap, but tasty and has hundreds of dishes that are worth trying out!
In the end I want to offer a couple of restaurants in Ankara where very tasty food is prepared:
